Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Staying at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge lets vacationers be close to the Magic Kingdom, yet feel they’re at a rustic yet luxurious resort miles away from the nearest city. With its log cabin appeal and its many activities, guests may have a hard time leaving to check out the nearby theme parks.
Each of the resort’s 728 guest rooms promises rustic charm and comfort with 340 square feet in which to relax. Rooms offer guests choices of two queen beds, one king bed, or a queen bed plus two bunk beds. There are also a limited number of suites available. Almost all of the rooms in the Lodge have balconies, and the first floor rooms offer patios. Starting around $240 per night, the rate climbs as the room’s view improves.
There are a host of activities to keep guests as busy as they want to be at the Lodge. The Silver Creek Springs Pool offers guests a chance to get their feet wet. Two hot tubs and a slide accompany the pool. Boat rental is located near the pool for those wanting to take a pontoon or Sea Raycer on Bay Lake. Also nearby is the bike rental station. Fishing enthusiasts will not be disappointed, either, as the Lodge offers private catch-and-release excursions. There are a score of other offered activities, as well, including movies under the stars, informative Lodge tours, and various resort-style games such as Disney trivia and hula hoop contests. Also not to be missed are the nightly Electric Water Pageant on the waters of Bay Lake and the regularly erupting Fire Rock Geyser.
Dining options at the Lodge include a well-reviewed, sit-down restaurant called Artist Point. For an all-you-can-eat experience, guests can head to the Whispering Canyon Café. Grab and go quick-service dining can be had at the Roaring Fork. Adult beverages are served in the Lodge’s Territory Lounge or poolside at the Trout Pass.
Staying on the Lodge also gives its guest special Disney privileges such as Extra Magic Hours in select theme parks and access to the Disney transportation system.
Though large, guests should feel right at home in this deluxe resort. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is a place that begs to be explored; why not give it a try?
